A veteran freelancer has been admitted to hospital today with a suspected skull fracture and concussion after a client has returned work with no changes. Witnesses state that the freelance was working in a coworking joint at the time.

“We heard an Outlook tone, which we assume was the client’s email, followed by a sound of unbridled joy. Next thing we know, there was a massive crack sound, and Bob was lying unconscious on the floor,” explained a witness.

The rescuers administered first aid on the scene, and local paramedics arrived to provide medical assistance. The veteran freelancer was moved to a nearby hospital, where it appears they are in a serious but stable condition.

Incident investigators attending the scene have since issued a public health warning.

Clients rarely accept the work of a freelancer without requesting changes. But it can happen.

We suggest freelancers take the following precautions to minimise the risk of sudden joy during client change requests

1.      Ensure that they complete all work with at least a few changes. That way, you can avoid the overwhelming sensations involved with being treated like an actual professional

2.      If you must insist on working with emotionally mature clients, ensure that appropriate rubber floor mats are located to the laptop, and any places where approval may be given

3.      Bicycle helmets should be worn during in-person meetings to ensure maximum safety

“Understandably, the client is filled with remorse,” explained Sergeant Adkins.

The client wishes they hadn’t trusted Bob and will micromanage his work from now on.

The coworking joint has been flooded with well-wishers and gifts from the freelance community.

They have launched a crowdfunding campaign to cover the medical costs and lost wages for hospitalised freelancer.
