Andrea Rowe is no stranger to the Freelance Jungle. As a content writer, she’s generous with her input and a delight to have around.

She’s no slouch when it comes to creative writing in both producing it and advocating for it. A proactive problem-solver, when Andrea realised Mornington Peninsula could have done with some way for writers to get together, she started the Peninsula Writer’s Club. A keen writer, Andrea has just been named 2022 Children’s Book Council Of Australia Picture Book of the Year – Early Childhood for her wonderfully popular book, Jetty Jumping.

And she’s coming to the Freelance Jungle to talk about creating your very own writer’s life!

In this special Freelance Jungle session, Andrea will talk about both her writing and her writer’s group across:

  • Growing the vision – imagining where you want to be
  • Growing your writing community – setting up your writers group tips
  • Work / writing balance
  • Giving back while keeping boundaries – volunteering and creating are a powerful force
  • Prioritising feeding your creativity – podcasts, events, workshops, social media, off line time
  • Children’s book authoring – where to start / continue

Here are Andrea’s handouts from the session:

  1. Freelance Jungle interview process notes
  2. GOAL-SETTING-Template
  3. How to create a writing life with Andrea Rowe handout
