I really love this. Thanks Bek, and I appreciate your honesty and your vulnerability.
This week (after chatting with everyone on the FJ FB page), I got the opportunity to quote for a job… and I did some research. I really wanted the job, but I also realised that I’ve been way underquoting for my work. So I bit the bullet and sent back my quote, which is what someone with my skills and experience (according to my industry standards) should be charging. And… crickets. Haha. Maybe I blew it? But also, maybe I dodged a bullet? They told me they’d need fast turnarounds – would I have been working rush hours for pittance? I’ll admit I felt a bit weepy yesterday thinking about it, but today I’m OK, because I have to start charging what I’m worth, and accept the consequences, i.e. that I’m not for everyone. Ugh, being brave is exhausting!
